1st Annual Beacon Falls Scarecrow Decorating Contest

Each category has a limited number of entries so that scarecrow creations can be laid out with the respect each one deserves- with attention to the visual appeal and public safety.
Each scarecrow will be placed on the Town Hall Lawn for viewing, and voting will be open from the morning of 11/13 To Noon on 11/20 and winners announced On 11/20 At 5 PM. You may vote for one scarecrow in each category (via Google Forms- links to be shared on Facebook and mybflib.org). Scarecrows will remain displayed through Thanksgiving as weather permits.
- We encourage everyone to use recycled/upcycled materials as much as possible.
- Scarecrows may reflect a special theme or promote a non-profit, organization, local sports team or local business. Scarecrows must be in good taste and constructed to withstand the weather.
- Scarecrows reflecting controversial, social, religious, or political opinions or statements will not be accepted. The Beacon Falls Public Library reserves the right to remove any scarecrow that it deems offensive or inappropriate.
- A first-place prize (gift card) will be awarded in each category.
Each entry will receive a wooden post and burlap sack for a head, available for pickup starting on 11/6. Entries are due to be placed on 11/13 or your space in your category will be given to someone on the waitlist.
